Infertility can be considered as an international health problem. It is one of the most frequently occurring health problem affecting active young adults. It is time consuming and costly. It concerns all social classes and races. As per international survey, more than 12 – 15 % couples face the problems of infertility during their married life. In social language, infertile couples are biologically handicapped adults.
During evaluation of infertile couple, there are 2 stages -

Male and female partners undergo history, examination and investigation to pinpoint the cause of infertility.
After evaluation of female partner for anatomical confirmation, there are two possibilities.
(a) Fallopian tubes are patent.
(b) Fallopian tubes are block.

In first group of patient, preferable choice of treatment is IUI (Intra Uterine Insemination) provided semen parameters of Male partners are within required range.
